The Research And Application Of IP Multicast Desk-top Video Conferencing In Campus Network Teaching

With the development of the network technology and the progress of communicationtechnology, video conference system is becoming the focal point of distance education. As akind of popular multimedia communication technology , the video conference has a peculiarexpression. This text utilizes the theory of modern educational technology as the guidance tothe educational application of present IP network technology, realizes distance learning incampus network on IP multicast video conference system .The development of IP multicastdesk-top video conference system regards Windows Server as serves platform , ActiveDirectory activity catalogue as the teaching platform and Exchange Server as informationtransmission , cooperating , data stores platform;NetMeeting SDK is put into the NetMeetingto improve the functions of the NetMeeting, which make it become a reliable , expanded ,high-quality tutoring system applied to the campus network of Intranet/Internet. This systemoffers the excellent sound / video multicast communication, turns the functions, such as whiteboard, remote access, distance control, the transmission of file and data, etc into reality. It alsocan carry on the meeting the live telecast to record, broadcast while needing in the future.This paper is composed of five sections. The first section introduces the development ofthe video conference system and its relevant research, and explains the development prospectof the video conference system and the meaning of the research in this subject.
