In the 21st Century the Digital TV is becoming an important information tool particularly as a medium to enhance the social, educational and cultural issues in the lives of people. As ISO/IEC defined MPEG-2 International Standard, many kinds of production have been showing up in the multimedia market. The following foundation of DVB standard, which is based on the MPEG-2 Transfer Stream framework and its swift popularization, deeply accelerate the application of the digital video communication. At the present time, the transmit mode can be divided into Cable, Satellite and Terrestrial. A new architecture for PMP system based on DVB-T is proposed in this thesis. In the architecture, uCLinux OS acts as the basic OS system and Sigma EM8511 chip-IC act as the main CPU. The implementation of this system is to enable people to watch Digital Handle TV anywhere and anytime. And the developing experience can furnish the experience of developing Digital-TV on other embedded OS. The design and implementation of the PMP Digital Television module structure is based on MPEG-2 and DVB standards study are discussed in this thesis in particular key technologies and modules, such as the demultiplexing of transport stream and implementation of EPG, teletext and subtitle. During the debug period of this system, I have used cross-compilation to build an executable file for system developing board. In this way, system code side is independent of the platform. The instruments are developed as modules, which promote the developing efficiency and the inheritance of modules. Finally, a conclusion of system work during the design and development is given as well as the discussion of how to improve the platform in the future.
