Geographic Information System (GIS) is a kind of computer tool, which combine Map, geographic analysis and database operation (For example, select operation and statistic analysis). Moreover, the map can provide special visual effects.This kind of ability makes GIS have the practical value in explaining affairs, estimating result and programming the strategy distinguished with other information systemsThe existing traffic statistic works seldom use the geography information to help make a decision and solve the problem.This paper is base on the design and implementation of a Japan Traffic Accident Information Analysis System using GIS technology. It has the following work:1. Make solutions of management, search, and analysis of spatial data and attribute data of traffic accident.2. Design formats of the spatial distribution situation display, accident theme display and statistical report base on GIS.3. The mighty statistical analysis was achieved. Moreover it' s possible to form the intuitionist statistical graph.However as a system base on GIS, it needs accurate data of mapping, accident and traffic volume etc.For the time reason, the collection and maintenance of the data wish to be improved in the future usage.
