WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a global specification that empowers wireless devices to access digital information anytime and everywhere. WAP is is communication protocol running over most wireless networks such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA, and UMTS. It is also application environment that can be built on any mobile OS including PalmOS, EPOC, Symbian, Window Smartphone etc.Firstly,this article introduces WAP service nowadays and in future.Secondly,it introduces several typical mobile data services and their work flow.Thirdly,the trend of the mobile data service management is introduced.After the project background, the author describe the WAP service work flow based on DSMP(Data Service Management Platform), put forward the WAP service management solution which introduces a new device WSAG (WAP Service Access Gateway). the author gives out all use cases base on this solution.The DSMP interface and SP provision interface of WSAG adopt Apache Axis2 Web Service middleware.The WAP portal interface is based on HTTP Servlet technology. Java Log4j is used to provide logging funtions. this article describe WSAG function module, logic flow ,interface design and coding issues. This author introduces WAP service in China nowadays, then introduces the core devices of the mobile data network: DSMP (Data Service Management Platform) and WAP Portal, then describes how these devices are introduced into telecom operating field. The problem of today's solution is also described.Finally the author introduces the difficulties met and the way to solve it. The author also summarizes the problem existed and the goal in near future research.
