Research And Implementation On Configuration Management System Of CDMA NBI Adapter

OMC, the abbreviation of Operation and Maintenance Center, which is generally provided by the equipment vendor, is used to fulfill the function of operating and maintaining the network equipment; NMS, the abbreviation of Network Management System, is used to manage network equipment provided by many different vendors. NMS collects data from OMC. The interface between them is defined as Northbound Interface.For the inter-operation of each vendor's NBI, it should adopt the standard interface. Meanwhile, as the difference exists between each vendor's network environment, and the interfaces they provided are also incompatible, it is necessary to fulfill an adapter system to provide an interface between TMN and OMC which can meet the standard requirements.On the basis of the reality, this thesis firstly analyzed the requirements of NBI, and proposed a common northband interface adapter model based on CORBA. Then, this thesis took Ericsson CDMA network's interface as an example, analyzing and researching in detail, primarily realized the design and implementation of the configuration management system. The subsystem included collecting data from OMC, dealing with the data, and providing the data in the right format as the NBI needs.At present, this model has applied to many vendors' NBI adapter systems, and all of them have passed the interface test. According to the reality, this model largely improves the flexility of the mobile network northband interface adapter, much meaningful to enlarge system, reducing the cost of software development and maintenance.
