SIM Technology And Application Research

This document focuses on following factors: SIM\STK\OTA technology, realization, improvement, lifecycle and differences of 3G USIM to 2G SIM. Based on the author's work experience, this document mainly contributs following points:1. The first time from the aspect of services enable by SIM, the document summarizes all services on SIM of China operators, and provides some improvement and innovative idea.2. The first time from the aspect of lifecycle of SIM, the document describes the real stage of SIM deployment, and introduces a SIM industrialization improvement.3. The document described the main differences of 3G USIM to 2G SIM, the first time claimes the idea of customization of authentication algorithm by operators, designs a 3G USIM supporting large storgae of phonebooks and name cards, and provided 2G-3G inter-working suggestion.The first chapter summarizes the background, the main achievement and the structure. The second chapter describes the 2G SIM technologies, including SIM, STK and OTA. The third chapter focuses on the lifecycle of SIM, describes current SIM deployment and introduces an improvement of industrialization. The fourth chapter describes 14 profiles of services, and introduces the improvement and new service design. The last chapter introduces the new technologies from 3G, provides the authentication suggestion, big phonebook design and 2G 3G inter-working research output.
