As the integration trend of the global economy, commercial banks in China will face more challenges from both domestic and abroad competitors. The data warehouse design method based on CIF(Corporation Information Factory) has some disadvantages, such as long building cycles, big risks etc. Although another design method, dimensional modeling, is effective and low-cost, yet the method has the problem of data expression inconsistency between the object-oriented application and the data warehouse model.Regard to the problem mentioned above, we adopted the object-oriented design method to do data warehouse modeling based on dimensional modeling. In this article, we did some research and practices in the fields below:1. We studied the method of converting "star schema" to object-oriented data model, and adopted the object-oriented design method to design the object model based on "data warehouse bus" architecture in order to solve the inconsistency of system's business and data expression.2. We adopted the object-oriented design method to the analysis and design process of ETL(Extract Transform Load).3. We designed the presentation part based on J2EE technology and object persistency specification to increase system performance when accessing by multiple users. In the end, we applied this design method suggested by this article to the bank audit system, and received good effect on system modeling and business function.
