Data Mining's Application In Some Project Of TCM

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is not only the quintessence of our country but also an important part of the treasure house of human knowledge. Over thousands of years' development, a mass of data and books are accumulated in traditional Chinese medicine. Currently, we pay much attention to its modernization, information and digitalization. Besides, large quantities of Chinese medicine databases are built up successively. With the development of the databases, it is a hot issue on how to make good use of these data.Traditional Chinese medicine has formed its own notions featured as "syndrome differentiation and treatment" (planning treatment according to diagnosis). However, it's hard to make a reasonable explanation for diagnosis and treatment as the analysis for Chinese medicine made by computer is superficial. Traditional Chinese medicine is much more complex than western medicine as the former makes the treatment according to different syndrome and characteristics of different patients. Moreover, western medicine cannot compare with traditional Chinese medicine just on the aspect of thousands of medicinal herbs and their compatibilities. Therefore, traditional Chinese medicine is characterized by abundance, complexity, normative and fuzziness on the clinical data information. It's a difficult point on how to analyze the data of Chinese medicine, to quest its regular and to form the system of deductive inference that is similar to western medicine. The introduction of the data mining technology provides a method for traditional Chinese medicine. Available data show that data mining on medicine will play a great role on diagnosis and treatment of disease, medical research and teaching and management of hospital.This thesis regard individual diagnosis and treat of stoke patients as background to extract the knowledge for the rules and methods of stock's diagnosis and treat by using the data of stock patients in MIS (Management Information Systems) and the data mining technology. It's a hope to do some contributions to deductive knowledge system of traditional Chinese medicine.This thesis uses traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treat of stoke as the project to probe into following three questions.(1)Researches on the correlation of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. It's primary to discuss the relationship between NIHSS (National Institutes of Health stroke scale) and stock symptom complex scale.(2)Studies on the symptom complex evolution law. It is mainly to discuss the characteristics of the evolution of the symptoms of stroke at some crucial moments, in order to offer evidences for the prediction of treatment consequences.(3) Studies on the association rules of symptom complex and treat. It's primary to discuss the relevance of various symptom complexes and treats of stock to provide references for the treat of stock according to symptom complex.
