As a basic software of interconnect between application under the Internet environment, message broker occupies the extremely important position in EAI. It shields the wide gaps and differences among different hardware platforms, network communication protocols, operating systems, databases and message forms, and realizes the functions such as delivery, collecting, translating, filtering, mapping and routing of the information needed by EAI, much more, offers the high-efficiency, convenient message transmission and communication capacity among application cores. With the violent development of EAI and Internet, the range of EAI becomes wider and wider. It has brought new challenges to message broker. The transmission protocols of traditional EAI such as CORBA, COM/DCOM, RMI etc. are not friendship with the Fire Wall, has made the messages transmitted unable to penetrate the Fire Wall, called the question message penetrated the Fire Wall. In addition, how to improve transmission efficiency seems particularly urgent. In addition, it seems to adopt loose coupling technology more and more, this is challenged for traditional tight coupling technology too. This paper studys around the extending mechanisms of the protocol layer of message broker, and aims at studying and realizing a transmission protocol support, by which message broker can penetrate Fire Wall and have higher message trassmission efficiency. At first, it compares the differences of XML-RPC and SOAP, two typical protocols that can penetrate Fire Wall, based on the aspects such as Web Services Architectures, data types, characteristics, developing patterns, message frameworks and performances etc. And more, it presents two extending mechanisms of protocol layer, SOAP-oriented extending mechanism and XML-RPC-oriented extending mechanism, based on the architecture of protocol layer of InforBroker, a message broker. By comparative analysis, this paper points out that the latter has a higher efficiency of message transmission. On this basis, it emphatically studies the design and implementation of XML-RPC-oriented extending architecture of protocol layer of message broker, the following contents are included: Overall framework design; Design and implementation of data exchanging module; Encapsulation of connection managing interface, business operating interface of the protocol access module, and the major function realization; Encapsulation of asynchronous message transmission interface of the asynchronous callback module, and the major function realization. Now, the XML-RPC-oriented extending architecture of protocol layer, which is designed and realized by this paper has got successful application in the Data Exchanging Platform of National tax bureau of Shandong province.
