With the high speed development of information technology, the application of video system becomes more and more popular. YHFT-DSP is the first long instruction word structure (VLIW) digital signal processor (DSP) with high-performance fixed-point in our contray. Because of its high speed of computation, low consumption, convenience of programming and debugging advantages, it's a good choice for video systems and digital image processing. Based on the difficulties of current video system design, a structure composed of FPGA and DSP is used in video sample and processing system, which makes full use of their advantages in the collection and processing of images and video. In this paper, a video system is designed and realized comprehensivly based on the YHFT-DSP.YHFT-DSP video system is mainly based on two experimental product design and realization. That is, Network Camera and Top Set of Box. This paper introduces circuit hardware and software programming implement of video system .To sum it up, the video system design include three parts: video sample, video processing and video display. Video sample mainly includes sampling theory, video collection and processing based on FPGA design, I~2C bus design, memory controller design and video collection circuit realized. Video processing includes structural characteristics and performance of YHFT-DSP, and the elaborated real-time image processing of hardware and software design, and then describes the DSP system software programming and system debugging, and finally introduces MPEG-4 algorithm. Video display includes introduction and application of video coding chips SAA7121H , video format conversion and video dispaly circuit hardware design.Finally paper summarizes the advantages and the actual system which is a good application, and on this basis prospect to their development prospects.
