With the sixth speeding up of main railways and the opening of rapid passenger access and the implementation and future development of high-speed railway ,there are increasing requirements for track availability. The state of Turnout and corresponding equipments that will directly affect the safety of the train. As a result,maintenance and diagnostication for Turnout is valued more than over.However,current maintenance for Turnout is when the turnout in the event of failure. This will seriously affect the high-speed railway lines in operation,even cause catastrophic accidents.The conversion to condition-orientedmaintenance,con tinuous remote diagnostics and mechanism to detect localized point failure instantaneously and safely will be the crucial parameters for effective maintenance of Turnout. At present, there is no effective means of monitoring the turnout. Turnout in the day-to-day repairs and maintenance will occupy much more time of operation. Present condition-oriented fault diagnostication and maintenance does not suit the development of railway operations.Overseas Turnout attached great importance to the real-time state monitoring, and have developed corresponding turnout monitoring systems .Such as Austria's Roadmaster 2000 turnout monitoring system, Russia's non-contact turnout controller ABKC automatically detect the space between tracks,France 's Turnout and Track monitoring system . Germany also developed it's own Turnout monitoring system. With the increase in railway operation speed, consulting the current situation of China's railway development and international experience, monitoring the real-time state of turnout and corresponding equipments is the key means to protect the saftety of Turnout and corresponding equipments and achieve a state of repair.By analyzing the field conditions and the functional requirements of high-speed Turnout,we developed a site parameter monitoring device,and transmit the collected data to the mechanical room by fieldbus LonWorks. Monitoring device includes several data acquisition boards and a main processing board. The main processing board connects each acquisition Board though the CAN bus.Indoor stations installed PC, PC using LabView software to acquire and analyse the data. The state of turnout indicates to users through graphical interface and real-time information.This paper introduces the detailed hardware and software design of the monitoring device based on the framework of entire system ,and the application of the CAN bus, at last the design of PC software is briefly introduced. After field test , the acquisition of accuracy and timely transmission of data to mechanical room, through a treatment system can meet the requirements.
