The working environment of computer is varying form the clean one to the poor one, such as industry spot, wildness, and outer space, which makes the reliability of microprocessor gradually become a subject worthy researching. Furthermore, with the adoption of nanometer-scale production course in microprocessor manufacture, the reduction of the character size of integrated circuit, the decrement of voltage of power source and the increase of frequency, microprocessor becomes more sensitive a variety of noises due to crosstalk, power-jitter, electromagnetic interference and radiation and so on, which requires microprocessor to possess higher reliability.This thesis first discusses the reinforcement strategies that should be considered in the design of the high-reliability microprocessor in RTL level, and introduces Triple Modular Redundancy, Space-Time Triple Modular Redundancy, and Error Detecting and Correcting. Then the timer of R80515 microprocessor is reinforced by the above three techniques, a simulation test is done in ModelSim SE to validate the reliability of reinforced timer, the area cost and time cost of the reinforced timer is analyzed by synthesizing and implementing in Xilinx ISE, and the best technology of reinforcement timer is selected though considering all aspects. At last, the paper researches the finite state machine, and analyzes the reinforcement strategy of interrupt controller.
