A Research About The Paper Media How To Report The AIDS

AIDS, threatened human's health, has became a all human problem. According to the statistics, the number of HIV carrier has increased to 144089 in mainland, including HIV patients 32886 and death statistics 8404. Such serious epidemic makes AIDS not only a medical problem, but also a serious economic and social problem.That the mass media how to report news about AIDS has all along troubled the press circles. Based on the frame building theory, this article, taken People Daily, HeNan Daily, Peaking Newspaper and Health Paper as the representatives, analyzes the AIDS news from June 2005 to July 2006 completely and systematically using content analysis, deep interview and document analysis as the means.Through the analysis it is found that the frame that the newspaper media how to report the AIDS is varied in accordance with the different times. Different newspaper has different frame. But this kind of change is not obvious, the frame of different newspaper has the same characteristics to a great extent Prevention frame, research frame and the epidemic frame is the dominant frame which media always advocates. The formation of the frame is the result of many factors that act on each other. The factors include media organizations, journalists, social circumstances and the audience.This article suggests that the future AIDS report should increase case report frame, public affair frame, and also should change the report style, widen the information source, cultivate journalist professionalism in order to improve the report quality to accomplish the media's education and communication function in AIDS prevention.
