A Study On Ideological And Political Education In Television Propagation

Ideological and political education in television propagation refers to the activities of ideological and political education with televisions as carriers, which is an important form and channel of modern ideological and political education. Guided by related theory of Marxism, the present paper employs the theory of relative disciplines such as ideological and political pedagogy and communication studies to systematically explore the issue. Our basic train of thought can be described as follows: we at first discuss the relationship between television propagation and ideological and political education as well as analyze the characteristics, forms of expression, functions, and influence factors of the latter; then we propose some advice on how to reinforce and improve ideological and political education in television propagation.The body part can be divided into four sections.Part 1 begins with analyzing the relationship between television propagation and ideological and political education. The discussion on the interdependence of them is carried out, and a brief introduction to the development of television propagation is given. The proposal that television propagation is an important form and channel of modern ideological and political education is thus proved.Part 2 states the characteristics and forms of expression of ideological and political education in television propagation. The following characteristics are discovered: high speed of communication, large amounts of coverage, permeability of content, diversity of forms and complexity of effect evaluation. Its forms of expression vary greatly, including ideological and political education in news programs, society-related programs, amusement programs and information-service programs etc.Part 3 focuses on the functions of ideological and political education in television propagation. It functions mainly in four aspects. Firstly it makes people receive ideological and political education free from the limitations in time and space; secondly, it helps to give publicity to the policies of our Party in order to establish common ideals among people; thirdly, it complements and reinforces the other forms of ideological and political education; lastly, it creates a better environment for ideological and political education.Part 4 offers our realistic strategies on how to reinforce and improve ideological and political education in television propagation, which is on the basis of analyzing influence factors. Four points are listed. Firstly, adhere to the correct direction of socialism in television propagation; secondly, do our best to avoid the side effects of it; thirdly, improve the qualities of propagators in television propagation through reinforcing the construction of their team; lastly, pay attention to the coordination of other forms in mass media dissemination and ideological and political education.
