The Research Of The Excitation Control System Based On CAN Field Bus

Modern excitation system of synchronous generator plays an important role in improving the reliability and stability of power system at present. Howerever, there are some problems in it yet in China.These problems are: the connection among parts in excitation regulation systemis so tight that it is easy to go wrong; it is difficult for maintenance and upgrade; the functions of its MMI (Man-Machine Interface)are absent especially. By the progress of computer technology, some advanced conceptions begin to be introduced into the modern excitation system, they provide the strong technology support for the rapid development of modern excitation system.This subject is finished under the backgrounds.In the paper, after taking into consideration the balance of real time control, reliability , the excitation control system based on can field bus is issued in which the sample part and control part are disjoined into the different parts of the system, a kind of new excitation control syterm based on net is constructed; the high speed data channel based on PCI between CAN and PC is designed; the intellengent excitation power part is constructed;the MMI software of the excitation control system is realized, which is inheritable.Some tests are accomplished for verifying availability and correctness in this paper, it is proved that the excitation control system provided in this paper is stable, high reliable and has excellent performance.
