With the rapid development in computer network technology as well as the continuing building-up of the consciousness of the importance of education paid by the countries all over the world, it has become quite common to apply network, the modern communicative measure, to education in some countries. Nowadays, the network resources are not only of a wide variety, but are enormous. Therefore it is necessary to develop network education resource management software to efficiently mange the network education resource, so as to request and organize information needed by the user from a vase amount of network education resources at any time with efficiency.Based on internet, Network Educational Resource Management System (simply as NERMS) is the project of development program in science and technology of Jilin Province. The major aim of NERMS is to efficiently organize and manage the various network education resources and to provide convenience for the extremely efficient acquisition and sharing of the network education resources, thus to accelerate the development and utilization of the network education resources and further promote the development of network education.During the process of constructing resource database, resource is the most important object throughout. The quality of resource in the resource database directly affects the popularity of the network education resource system. Therefore the resource, when uploaded by the user, must be subjected to strict examination and only the one that has been proved to be qualified can be incorporated in the database. Resource examination is a technological process assembling a small-scaled OA system with the different participants and the different operational steps and tasks.As a burgeoning technology that has developed in 1990s, workflow is an emerging focus in the field of computer application. It is an efficient mean to integrate enterprise process with great potential for growth and to which increasing attention has given by scholars from home and abroad. The further investigation of which is of great significance in enhancing the information, operation efficiency and competitiveness of Chinese enter- prises.Derived from the manufacturing organization and OA field, the notion of workflow is advanced in view of the regular activity with fixed process in work. The great advantage of workflow is the separation of application logic from process logic which can alter the function of system by modifying process model without the change of the specific function. Such kind of alteration will partially or completely realize the integrated management of operation process and organize the participants, information and application facilities efficiently and reasonably, so as to increase the reusability of software and to utilize the efficiency of system to its limit.This essay gives introduction to the notion and model of workflow technology and management system and analyzes the current achievement in the investigation of workflow. Meanwhile, the imperfection existing in the workflow technology is also discussed in this paper. At present, with the continuous improvement of Web technology, it has become feasible to fulfill the distributed request for workflow system by means of Web. And J2EE is exactly the superior platform that applied to develop Web conveniently and rapidly. Under the circumstance, this essay from the view of application puts forwards a solution of resource examination system to integrate workflow technology within the framework of J2EE.This paper designs and realizes the multi-layered architecture resource examination system that integrates workflow engine based on the B/S model with the application of process automation designing ideas and the referenceof current prevailing workflow technology in accordance with the character- istics of resource examination process, providing direct service for NERMS. During the specific organization, it adopts J2EE technology that is widely used for developing Web application program in this field, and selects Tomcat as application server and Eclipse as developing and examining environment to carry out the specific program development. The whole developing process is clear and coherent and the testing is flexible.On the basis of J2EE framework, workflow technology as well as relational database and made the utmost of server resource, the examining system provides a cross-platform environment that is simple and identical and separates developing environment from application environment, there- by decreasing the volume of the work of development and maintenance. This system, characterized by well scalability, could easily be accomplished and support transaction along with the flexible interaction with customers hence has efficiently accomplished the automation of operation process and accelerated the quality and efficiency of resource examination.Up till now, all the development of the system has been accomplished and runs well under the testing environment.
