With the development of military science and technology, supported by computer simulation, the virtual reality simulated training becomes more important,in order to reduce personnel, goods and materials of actual fight lose and economize training funds. The training way to drive and fighting with the tank driving simulator based on virtual reality to the driver, has advantages of energy-conservation, security, economy, is not restricted by time, climate, place while training, and may make the train high-efficient, short train cycle. It improves the result of training greatly, and exercise army very well among the environment of virtual reality, will become tank drive the development trend trained.My paper depicted the three-dimensional modeling technology,visual simulation technology of the tank driving and training visual simulation system.Analysised the dynamic of one tank,researched and established the simulated driving system for tank with virtual reality based upon the motion simulator of 6-DOF, which is driven by the hydraulic power system. So we can realize the real-time feedback of the information such as vision and motion. The main contents of my paper is depicted as following:â'ˆIntroductionBased on the researching of the collected materials,depicted the following contents briefly.â‘´The meaning of the researching of the tank driving and training visual simulation system;⑵The general situation of the tank driving and training simulator in the domestic and foreign countries;⑶Introduce the trend of the development of the tank driving simulator;â‘·The main task of my paper.â'‰Researched and builded the dynamic model of the tankAnalyzed the force act on the tank in different situations, We analyzed and researched on the operating modes during driving of the tank, such as starting, accelerating,driving directly, changing direction. Then we established the mathematical models of these operating modes, which can be applied to the visionsystem. Thus it can afford the mathematical foundation for the establishment of the vision simulating system of the simulated driving system for the tank.â'ŠThe modeling of the tank driving and training systemGenerally analyzed the characteristic of several differernt model tools.Considered the need of the paper,we selected MultiGen Creator as the modling tool.Depicted the construction and the main modeling technology of MultiGen Creator.Narrate the modeling procedure of the tank,builded the terrain data base and added tree,house,road into it.â'‹The programming of the vision simulation softwareFirst introduced OpenGVS which is the development platform of the vision simulation software in briefly.Telled about the characteristics,core resources andoperating mechanism. Analyzed the construction of the vision simulation software integerly,recounted the main fuction of every module of the software.Expatiated how to build and connect the resources in the graphics processing module, how to make the special and good effect such as fire and smoke.Then we calculated the numerical model of the tank and its'transmission system to drive the vision simulation programme.At last used the API function provided by the system programming the sound processing procedure,builded the communicaion between the graphics processing sever and the 6 DOF motion simulator control computer.â'ŒTest and demonstrate the driving and training simulation programme.The visual system of 6 DOF tank driving simulator, using the PC of Windows XP operating system, Pentium 1.6GHz, memory 512MB, display card GeForce4MX6400, can realize tank all kinds of operation, such as start, accelerate, brake, veer,firing, and realize following terrain, collision detection, adjusting gun turret andbarrel, hitting goal etc. The visual system depends on reading and judging the information of operating to control tank state, so it has better vision immerse sense.Meanwhile, through the real-time communication between visual system andmovement simulation system, the gesture of movement platform is controlled bythe real-time information that the visual system supports to simulation of controlsystem. So vision, sense of touch and body sense are unified, and the problem, that interaction and immerse sense of driving simulator are not very well, is solved.Through the experiment examining, the tank driving and training visual simulation system can function fluently base on the high performance hard and software resource. The visual Interface images is rich, realistic strong, and resolve the problem of previous visual simulation system of driving and training simulator which have a single image, discontinuous movement and other issues .The whole system achieve a better visual simulation resultsThe simulated system for tank driving and training adopted virtual reality technology can improve greatly such performances as systematic initiative, interaction and immersing. It also offers more lifelike driving environment to the drivers and improves the teaching effect for driving&training remarkably. So we can say that this technology has obvious advantage. It is the main direction to develop for the simulated training system. Under the situation that the research of virtual reality is just begin in domestic, this subject established the foundation for promoting the further research and application of the virtual reality technology .Because of the limitations of time and condition, the visual simulation system of tank driving and training simulator exists a lot insufficiencies, such as operate sense of reality is not strong,environment of battle field is monotonous in the system, virtual instrument is not precise enough, these contents will be proposed to be perfect in the work afterward.
