With the development of virtual reality and human-computer interaction, more and more people pay attention to virtual driving simulator. Interactive technology in the virtual driving simulator becomes the hot and difficult topic of virtual reality and human-computer interaction field. Traditional virtual driving game with the mouse, keyboard and other equipments complete the interaction. The operating mode is boring. In order to achieve the virtual driving simulation system with strong authenticity, the high efficient of interaction and advanced interaction with good immersion,the real vehicle driving steering wheel, brakes and other interactive devices are adopted in this paper. It mainly studies the technology of interaction based on the steering wheel, brakes and other equipments. It designs and realizes a virtual driving simulation system with advanced interactive way. In this paper, the main results are as follows:(1) For the easy turning problems of virtual vehicle, it studies and puts forward the steering wheel interaction method based on the resistance moment of steering. It makes use of the driver of underlying hardware to acquire signal of the steering wheel angle and send angle signal to the virtual driving simulation system; According to actual resisting moment of steering, it calculates the corresponding virtual resisting moment of automobile steering; Virtual automotive resistance moment of steering is calculated according to the turning angular velocity; Computing the information of position after the car turns to complete virtual vehicle steering. Experiments show that the research based on the interaction method of steering resistance torque of the steering wheel is feasible and effective.(2) For the deceleration and the parking problems of virtual driving braking, the research puts forward a brake interaction method based on Newton’s laws of motion. It makes use of the drivers of underlying hardware to acquire real-time signal and sends signal to the virtual driving simulation system; Calculating the resistance when the car was braking according to the current speed of the car; According to the resistance of brake to reduce the current speed; According to the position of automobile tires and friction coefficient of tire when it brakes pedal, it calculates the location and intensity of braking track; According to the position and intensity of the braking track, we fuse it to the ground;3d scene is rendered to the big screen in the end. Experiments show that the research based on the brake interaction method of Newton’s laws of motion is feasible and effective.(3) For the problems of collisions virtual automobile with obstacles, the study puts forward a method of collision detection based on bounding volume boxes tree. Firstly, building the oriented bounding box tree. Calculating the Convex hull of object model based on exhaustive method; According to the vertex coordinates on the convex hull of object model, we calculate the center of the convex hull, surface area and total area. Calculating the center of the bounding box based on the triangle area weighted method. The geometric model is decomposed into multiple parts to construct bounding box tree; According to the theory of probability calculation of covariance, we determine the direction of the bounding box. Then, we use the method of collision detection based on the separation axis to construct bounding box collision detection. Experiments show that the research of the collision detection method based on oriented bounding box tree is effective and feasible.(4) We design and implement virtual driving simulation system based on the steering wheel, brakes and other advanced interactive devices. In this paper, it designs and implements five important modules such as the model loading, visual simulation, scene interaction, collision detection, audio effects in order to provide users a better sense of reality and the pleasure. Finally we completed virtual driving simulation system based on the steering wheel, brakes and other advanced interactive devices. The effect of the running shows that the virtual driving simulation system is running well.
