With the coming of the network age, the Computer Supported Collaborative Work(CSCW) system is greatly emphasized. Computer Supported Collaborative Design(CSCD) is a very important application in CSCW. Petri Net-based process modeling is an effective method of establishing and managing the workflow model of CSCD, and it will be beneficial to the enterprise to shorten the product development time, improve the quality of the product, reduce the cost and improve the quality of the service. Petri Net model is a kind of model based on graphics and maths, so as to it has the characters of rigorous math basic and intelligible graphics expression. Petri Net is used to analyze discrete concurrency system. Process modeling based on Petri Net is an effective method of achieving the model of workflow in CSCD. Several main parts are included in this paper.Firstly, the characteristic of CSCD is studied, and the architecture of workflow process management system for CSCD is established in this paper.Secondly, timing illation and Petri Net is combined to make the CSCD process model. Fuzzy-Timing High-level Petri Net (FTHN) is used to analyze the CSCD activity in this paper. The fuzzy and uncertain time in CSCD activity is defined. A relevant mechanism about evaluating and reasoning is established, so as to realize performance analyse for CSCD process model. The ration and performance analyzing for CSCD scheme are given to provide theory base for optimizing CSCD scheme.Finally, on the base of the feature of EFTN model, the project, the strategy, the performance metrics of the workflow simulation are put forward, and the solutions to key problems are presented. A simulation tool based on EFTN model is developed to simulate and analyze a concrete CSCD model.
