Evaluation Research Of University Campus Website

Now there are many college schools to construct their campus website. The campus website are given highly attention of various aspects, but the debates of website are focused on how those website design and build there is little research of usability of website. The basic function of campus website is to bring visitors the information, the knowledge and the service which the visitor need. The good way that the resources of website is provided to visitor can accelerate further construction of website, satisfy the visitors during browsing, attract more users to visit, enhance the well-knowingness, display a bigger potency Those can play a important role in the construction of website.The research of website usability has already became the hot area of usability research. In order to enhance and improves the usability of websites , various method and technology of usability are proposed, and some of those technologies and method are already widely used. Each method has own characteristic and is suitable of specific environment. The mainly method are the UCD method, the usability design guide, the usability appraisal, the assistant tool of usability.In this article we take the universities campus website as the research object, discuss the difference in discovery and improvement of usability between tradition usability method and data mining technology based on the website diary analysis method. First, in the foundation of multi analysis of characteristic of universities campus website and of appraisal theory , a systematical model of evaluation of universities campus website is explored. And based on this ,10 graduate students websites of Shandong University are evaluated by the scene usability test and the questionnaire survey. In this article the analytic method of gray connection is first applied to the result of evaluation , and the difference of usability of 10 websites are obtained with this method which has the significance of reference to evaluation of excellent website of graduate student website. Next in order to promote the level of technology of website usability , fully use the website diary resources, this article introduces the technology of data mining to the research of website usability ,and applies a method of connection rule to the excavation of website diary log.A assistance tool of usability analysis is realized which can discovery behavior pattern of browsing website of users, and can help the usability analyser discover the question of website usability .This tool was carried on the website of Shandong University Qilu software institute, based on the analysis of result , the question of usability is found and the method of improvement is proposed. Finally, in this article ,the shortcoming and the insufficiency of two method are proposed ,and the suggestion of development is also proposed.
