The harbor operation progresses rapidly with the economic development in recent years. The harbor is a main node which develops the core function in the comprehensive logistics for its unique feature. Anciently, many harbors implemented monitoring by field human checking or spot-checking, which was a labor force wasting, inefficient and room and time limited method. Therefore, the research and design of a monitoring system for harbor usage should be seriously considered. The terminal of Multi-spots Wireless Image Monitoring System for Harbor Usage is a important part of the monitoring system. The terminal which is located in the monitoring spot captures, compresses and transmits images that is used for alarm and remote management to the monitor center. The holistic design and operating principle of the Multi-spots Wireless Image Monitoring System for Harbor Usage will be analyzed, and the terminal circuit is designed and implemented in this dissertation. The design and implementation of a page image capturing and processing circuit based on CMOS image sensor and FPGA will be discussed in detail. Image capturing and storing, JPEG image compression and data transmission based on RS-232 protocol are implemented in this circuit with Verilog HDL. Tests prove that the system is stable. The end of this paper summarizes the points of writer's research work and predicts the future direction of Multi-spots Wireless Image Monitoring System for Harbor Usage.
