Design And Implement A J2EE-Based Transmission Network Management System

Transmission network is the artery of communications network. Without physical transmission network, communication simply can not be achieved. The growing of the number of network applications increasingly heavy the burden of the network. In order to ensure the efficiency and stability of transmission network, we should not only pay attention to the construction of physical network, but also pay attention to the transmission network management and monitoring. Therefore a transmission network management system of high availability and extensibility is very important for the network.This paper describes a multi-service transmission network device management system which is based on the J2EE framework. It is a manufacturer layer and subnetwork layer management system. The system is mainly developed to manage the NEC's SDH transmission equipments, such as Cnode series and Vnode series. This paper describes a multi-service transmission network device management system which is based on the J2EE framework. We use the SBI (southbound interface) to shield the diversity of different devices and use XML file to model the equipments, so the system's high-level design is quite portable and versatile.Before presenting the core content, this paper first introduces the transmission network and SNMP-based network management system, then brings out two J2EE framework and technology. These will give the reader a better understanding of the design of the system. The major purpose of this paper is describing the high-level design of a transmission network management system. So it does not analysis the detail of some transmission network technology, such as PDH, SDH, DWDN, MSTP and so on. This paper focus on the framework of NMS and how to design and implement a fully functional, efficient, portable and extensible transmission NMS.
