As a customization computing system, embedded system has now widely been used and plays a very important role in many fields such as national defence, industry, traffic, energy source, information technology and civil living. The research and development of embedded system has turned into one important research domain and aspect of modern electronic designing field. With the development of Internet, network technique brings forward a new research field for embedded system. The entrance to Internet of the embedded device has become a significant direction and has a vast market potential.In this dissertation, a universal embedded board for home appliance is proposed as well as designed. Based on the 32bits chip of ARM (LPC2214), with the help ofμC/OS-II, which is an embedded Real-Time Operation System (RTOS), this system realizes network connection by means of porting embedded TCP/IP stack.At the beginning of this thesis, the development of embedded system is introduced. We analyze the architecture of ARM core, and introduce the design of hardware platform in detail. Sequentially thesis introduces the feature ofμC/OS-II, and analyzes the following parts ofμC/OS-II, task management, task communication and memory management, and the process of portingμC/OS-II to LPC2214. Then, we introduce the features of embedded TCP/IP stack, analyze its mechanism and work flow. At last, the embedded system is tested.
