In the 21st century, embedded system has been the hot spots of the economy and the major popular technique in the post-PC time. The embedded system technique is widely used in many fields, such as industrial control, military electronic equipment, network communication equipment and consuming electronic product. The application technology of embedded system in many consuming electronic products is especially important, and more requirements have been posed about the performance of embedded system product. Speed and memory of traditional 8/16-bit microcontroller is hard to meet the demands of modern product. With the development of microelectronic technology, the embedded technology based on 32-bit RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) processor is popular. Especially, 32-bit embedded microprocessor designed by ARM Company has been the first chosen microprocessor in many embedded system solution project, because of high-performance, power-consumption, low-cost and 16/32-bit double instruction. With the porting of EOS (embedded operating system) and GUI (graphical user interface), many functional and novel embedded products have been developed. With rapid development of MEMS, MEMS accelerator has been widely used, because of small-volume, light-weight, power-consumption, low-cost and high-reliability. And fabricating technique is compatible with traditional integrated circuit technique, so it is digitized, intelligent and productive. Since it came out for ten years, MEMS accelerator has been applied to car electronic, biomedical engineering, computer peripheral, guidance and control, and industrial detecting abroad. With MEMS accelerator in advanced embedded system technique, many new functional embedded devices are appeared. Based on the chance and the challenge, a new idea is posed. After porting EOS and GUI, making wireless control module, many new applications with MEMS accelerator are designed on ARM-based evaluation board.Both theory and practice are included in this paper. The part of theory is the development, trend, demand, architecture and development methods of embedded system, ARM architecture, Philips 89LPC935 architecture, the knowledge of embedded system real-time operating system and GUI, principle of MEMS accelerator and wireless control module, the basic principle of pattern recognition and so on.
