Research On Mobile Agent In Network Management System

As the remarkable development of computer network technology,Internet has come to pervade every aspect of our lives and society,and new direction has come forth in computer network because of new technologies.On one hand,network unceasingly extend in a wider scope,and its complexity upgrade to a higher grade or standard;on the other hand,demand for flexibility and expansibility.Under these situations,SNMP network management based on manager/agent(M/A) model has exposed its limitation step by step.The appearing of mobile agent has brought a revolution to network management.It is an intelligent agent able to move in net and complete its tasks.It has many characteristics,such as mobility,intelligentce,parallel,autonomy and durative.In network management,it's good at performance watch,fault check and security management.High intelligence and great remote data processing can reduce the data amount and lighten the burden of station;parallel can balance the load of network and optimize the netword performance;it has nothing to do with the platform and can be transplanted easily;its functions can be ordered and this makes network process dynamic programming ability.Therefore,mobile agent can make up SNMP management and be fit for variety of network developing.At first,this paper presents interrelated context of network management.Then mobile agent technology is researched,including its concept,fundanental,characteristic and standardization.In addition,some principal mobile agent platforms are analyzed.On base of that the paper researches the application of mobile agent in network management system and the framework based on it,and gives their function.Then the design and implement of performance management module is presented,mainly designs a mobile agent having performance management function and alternations of it with SNMP and database. At last the paper makes the theory analysis.
