The Structural Optimization Of Switching Network Management System Under Boss Framework

As the competition is more and more intensive in telecom market, it is quite urgent for the fixed telephone operator to begin network transformation in order to continuously meet the clients' needs and provide more unique and hierarchical service. That needs to solve the problem of "how to reduce the cost and hold clients" and guarantee the service quality, which is the basis for greatly improving the working efficiency. The key to it is the construction of OSS/BSS.Recent years, every telecom operator had successively introduced and independently developed plenty of network management systems. Every department sets up its own network management systems, which includes exchange, transmission, data, order and wired-network information and electrical environment control, etc. and which were responsible for the maintenance and management of local nodes of national professional network management systems. However, different developers have adopted different techniques, most of them have adopted their own management protocols, the result is that the network protocols are not compatible; management information can not be transmitted; the whole network lacks of comprehensive management; the management content is too large and complex; and the operating interfaces are diverse, etc. Confronted with the present situation of the telecom network management, all the telecom operators hope to set up an integrated network management system based on the present network management systems, to realize integrated network management. The requirement for the integrated network management system has appeared, that is to transform the present independent existing professional network systems into an all-functioned integrated management system.Having already realized the importance of the Business Operation Support System, China Netcom (Group) Company Limited,Liaoning Branch constructed and carried into execution the new Business Operation Support System in the early of 2004. It successively operated on Dalian Netcom in April, 2006. The author of the thesis has taken part in the work of Boss system testing and fixing in Dalian.
