With the fast development of digital information and network technologies, Embedded System is spreading out and getting popularly used in every field. For its special utility and needs, embedded design is very different from that of PC system. Modern embedded application becomes more and more complicated. Excellent popular hardware makes it possible to use Embedded OS(Operating System)in Embedded System, Which is a good choice, based on Embedded OS, developers needn't think too much about low-layer stuff. All is just to concentrate on the top-layer application programming.As an open OS, Linux boost up since its birth, many embedded products comprise Linux as the software platform because of its strong advantage in this field.As a new little-range wireless communication technology, Zigbee technology is now prevailing, it is a limited range,low-complexity,low power consumption,very low-cost,two-way wireless communication technology. Solutions adopting will be embedded in consumer electronics, home and building automation, industrial controls, medical sensor applications.In this thesis, we bring out a way to build an embedded platform based ARM S3C2410X and Linux OS to develop coordinator, and investigate how to empolder the application of ZigBee wireless comunication technology in home automation. We introduce the process of hardware and embedded software design, describe clearly how to transplant Linux OS to ARM development platform, and present the process of development coordinator and node's application programm.
