With the development of embedded technology, its use in industry control field gets more and more attention, and plays a great role. As the most important part of the whole system, the performance of the hardware of embedded controller has a great effect on the whole system's performance. For the control system of future's industry equipment, On the one hand, higher stability and better reliability are requested, at the same time, lower power consumption and smaller size are desired. On the other hand, consistency, transplant and upgrade of software development are wanted to simplify the complexity of system integration development and reduce the cost of maintenance and upgrade, then all these could be fulfilled by using embedded system.By comparing the specificities of popular embedded microprocessor, we have selected the EP9315 ARM9 microprocessor produced by Cirruc Logic Company and set up the embedded development platform. The hardware platform includes interface circuit of power module, crystal oscillator, reset module, UART module, network module, memory and A/D module etc. excluding, we have also supplied the driver of relevant module.Because there are various kinds of ARM chips in market and it is difficult to find a boot code (usually named bootloader) that is compatible with any development board, the replant of boot code between different platforms becomes the first problem that researchers face. In this thesis, it represents the replant course of Redboot (a kind of bootloader) based on EP9315 development board in detail and introduces the ways to write a driver program under embedded Linux OS,at last it also represents how to build the serial port communication between PC and embedded development platform.
