Design And Development On Embedded Multimedia System Based On Intel 3100

As next-generation network transfer tools are getting more popular, streaming media technology, such as P2P, and the transmission of large volume of high-definition video on the network are in common, a large number of BT sites emerge. As the great potential value and commercial space of high-definition, many countries have pursued in high-definition. In domestic, based on the smaller size of the total, China's high-definition industry also maintained steady and rapid growth. The multi-media system is designed for this need.In this thesis, based on embedded technology, combined with multimedia technology, a embedded multimedia system is designed. The design and implementation of embedded multimedia system have been analysised from three levels, in accordance with the hardware, firmware and software sequence.Firstly, based on the introduction and description of the embedded system and the embedded processor, the 3100 functions and features are analysised combined with CISC design, and a number of important peripheral, including DDR2 SDRAM interface,FLASH interface,audio output interface,video output interface, ethernet port interface and USB interface are designed in the thesis.Secondly, in the firmware section, the set up of development environment are described in detail. According to the characteristics of multi-media systems, the different loading ways of Redboot are analysised, and the linux kernel transplanting configuration and the application configuration steps of the system display driver are illustrated in detail in the thesis.Finally, the function of the system modules and architectures are discussed in detail, the system initial based on TEA, player based on Gstreamer and UI based on Directfb system are designed, and the main UI diagram is given.The embedded media system is applicable for customer needs. In terms of kinds of pratical problems, some ideas and measures of improvement in the form of discussion are introduced in this thesis, for example, supporting VOD, browser, flash game, etc.
