Database System In WCDMA Core Network

In this paper, a new database technology―MMDB (Main Memory Database) used in WCDMA core network was analyzed and studied on the background of the complexity of mobile communication network and the requirement of communication network to the database.The research of MMDB was based on the following aspects: the basic characteristics and capability requirements of a MMDB; the framework of a WCDMA network; the structure of a WCDMA core network; the relationship between the architecture and the distribution of the MMDB system used in a WCDMA core network.MMDB was divided into database management module and database application module according to its principle, function and the structure of a core network. The database management module consists of database kernel module and database maintenance module. The database kernel module was designed and achieved based on two aspects: the physical storage structure of the datasheet object, index object and queue object; the relationship among these objects. All kinds of synchronization transport protocols were designed in the light of the data distributing of the MMDB system, realized the function of database maintenance module. The design of database application module was realized on the basis of the accessing demand and the characteristic of database. In addition, the realizing parts of the MMDB system include database file format and the theory of database process schedule. The database file format was used for loading and saving data of database, while the database process schedule was used for solving the questions of parallel data accessing. The design demand of the MMDB was finished by testing.
