With the increasing popularity of the information interchanging between enterprises and the proliferation of data exchanging among web applications, data exchange has already become a critical problem. In this paper, we illustrate this problem with the scenario of data exchange between heterogeneous databases. We at first briefly introduce the basic knowledge of data exchange and design a solution to data exchange between databases based on XML. Then we present a hybrid schema match algorithm based on dynamic weight. Lastly, we deploy the data exchange as services in Web services and introduce the prototype. Most of the existing schema match algorithms are complicated and hard to use. Our algorithm, which is called DWHM, is designed according to relational schema and XML Schema. It is easy to use in contrast with those. The algorithm combines the comparison with the linguistic similarity and structural similarity. Turning to data dictionary, DWHM also compares with the semantic similarity between the nodes in schema trees. The solution to data exchange is based on JAVA/XML. When we deploy the implementation as services in Web services, it can realize an platform irrelevant application. In order to find and invoke services in Web services, we conceive an idea that the providers encapsulate XML schema in WSDL. So the requester can compare the XML schema with the providers by WSDL.
