During the process of design and manufacture in manufacturing enterprises, computer simulation is always an indispensable and useful tool, which plays an enormous role in decreasing loss, shortening prouduct development cycle and improving the quality of products. With the development of manufacturing technology, the applications of computer simulation are confronted with new reqirements. And the application fields expand day by day, from traditional manufacturing field to the fields of product design development, process simulation in the course of processing, and optimizing the processing plan. This dissertation, taking the pressing workshop and assembly workshop of a motor manufacturing plant in Nanjing as simulation objects, exhaustively analyses following items: the system structure and the design principle of fictitious production lines, basic tactics and process of discrete simulation and how to set up model of discrete system with extended stochastic high-leve evaluation Petri nets (ESHLEP–N). During modeling the pressing workshop and assembly workshop with Flexsim software, the dissertation discusses the workshops'structures and their characteristics and principles in detail. Then the ESHLEP–N is used to build workshop models based on the theory of job-shop and flow-shop. After modeling the pressing workshop and the assembly workshop by ESHLEP–N, the dissertation studies the interface technology between the ESHLEP–N and the Flexsim at length. At last, the 3D models of the two workshops are built by using Flexsim.At the same time, this dissertation also puts forward the simulation database, studies its speciality and architecture, and designs it using sql-server. For convenience and standardization of using the above-mentioned models, the simulation management system based on .net platform is developed to combine the 3D models and simulation database together.In respect of models simulating, different punching sequences (schedules) with the identical plan are used to simulate the prunching processes in the punching workshop simulation, and different scheduling rules with the identical plan are used to simulate the assembly processes in the assembly workshop simulation. Finally, the dissertation anatomizes the data and the results got from the models, and gets a superior process order and scheduling rule.At the end of this dissertation, the deficiencies in this dissertation are pointed out and perspective is presented.
