Multicast-based Secure Communications Technology Research

While application of multicast is widespread, corresponding security problems are brought forward. Security issue of multicast technology is totally different from that of unicast.A security and reliability multicast technology with high efficiency is cried for many multicast applications. Research on how to use available security standard becomes the hottest in multicast communication field.In this paper, security principles of multicast and relevant security issues to be resolved are discussed based on the analysis of network communication mechanism. Combined with new security standard for the Internet-IPSec, a project of secure multicast system is designed and realized, secure multicast illustration is obtained, finally, compatible issues between secure multicast design and IPSec protocol series is developed.This paper is supported by the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) under contract No. 2001AA142100 and the Research Fund of National Education Ministry under contract No. 20010699018.
