The application of computer technology promoted the fast development of the hydrology business modernization, and improved the technical level of the gathering, the transmission, the storage and the application of the hydrology information. But observation data of the hydrological station which is the important composition of the hydrological information are still achieves digital storage, processing and application. It is urgent to research and develop a data management system meets the need of the management of information of the hydrological station and also is fits to use in the hydrological station. Therefore, this article research unifies the actual demand of the hydrology business of Sichun province, and uses software engineering method to design and initially realize a practical hydrological stations data management system. The following contents are included in this article:1 , Relying on the analysis of the disadvantages of the high dispersed hydrological stations and the bad conditions of facilities and equipments and so on , we focus on analyzing and summarizing the business requirement of the management of the hydrology data. Considering the bad states of the running systems, the difficulty of the system maintenances, etc, we chose B/S as the fundamental framework based on the .net platform that developed by Microsoft company.2, Adopting visual language of object-oriented model analysis UML to make requirements analysis and modeling for system ,which safeguards the system's maintainability and facilitates system's development.3 , We have initially completed the development of the system based on the Web using the ASP.NET technique. The system realized some functions such as input, analysis and computation, inquiry of the primitive observation data of the hydrological stations. And the system basically met these needs such as convenience to maintain, reducing work load of the hydrological stations workers, collecting measured data in time, and convenience to process and manage data of the hydrological stations centrally.
