Research And Application Of GSM SMS On Hydrology Telemetric System

The hydrology telemetric system is an important component of informationization in the field of Water Conservancy. In order to make exact forecast and dispatch, the hydrological information is collected and processed. In this system, the mode of hydrological information transmission is very important. The conventional modes of hydrological information transmission are Ultrashort Wave and Wired Dial in the PSTN. With the development of mobile communication technology, the application based on mobile communication network is more and more extensive.This paper introduces the hydrological information transmission by using the Short Message Service in the GSM network. This paper firstly accounts for the components of the hydrology telemetric system. Comparing with the conventional modes of hydrological information transmission, the paper analyses the reality of mobile system and the protocol of Short Message Service in the GSM network. Secondly, the paper briefly introduces the realization of hydrology telemetric system. In addition, the paper shows the imperfection of Short Message Service with the other ways, for example, Data Service in the mobile network. Finally, the paper discusses the common AT commands in the GSM network and introduces how to develop a program to receive and send Short Message. The transmission of hydrological information in the GSM network is a new break-through in the field of Water Conservancy.
