Compared with other types of fiber, Microstructured Polymer Optical Fiber(MPOF) has greate advantage in short-distance communication, and which is a kind of ideal transmission medium in short distance fiber communication. Now, the manufacture technology of MPOF is still not mature enough, the precision, practicability and automatization degree of the drawbench equipment can't fulfil the demand. Therefore, it's quite significant to make a further study on the fiber drawbench measure and control system.Firstly, the paper introduces MPOF and the drawbench technics status quo of MPOF briefly, the concept and the application prospect of virtual instrument were expounded, the structure and principle of the draw equipment in lab were also introduced in detail.Secondly, a measure and control system based on virtual instrument was devised in this paper; the computer was used to monitor the temperature and the fiber diameter in the draw process. The hardware circuit of the system was designed based on the ready-made equipment in lab, mainly include signal conditioning circuit, temperature controlling circuit, electromotor velocity measuring and driving circuit, and the theory of the hardware system was expounded; the control arithmetic was investigated, and the improved PID arithmetic was confirmed at last; the program has been designed by LabVIEW to realize the function of data automatic gathering, analyzing, showing, recording and controlling on the temperature of the stove, the fiber diameter and the electromotor velocity.Finally, an experiment was carried out to measure and control the temperature of the stove. According to the results, the performance and the existing problems of the system have been analyzed, and a direction for furtherstudy has been pointed out as well.
