Preliminary Study On World Heritage Archive

It has already been 20 years since China declared World Heritage in 1987. These years, the society pays more attention to the declaration and protection activities of World Heritage, but little concerns on research of World Heritage Archives. The author hopes that the thesis provide a new angle of view for the research of World Heritage and do positive function to more research of World Heritage Archives.The thesis briefly reviewed the domestic studies on World Heritage. There was little or nothing research on World Heritage Archives. It intoduced related concept such as "Natural Heritage" "Culture Heritage" "World Non-matter Cultural Heritage" and "World Documents Heritage", clarified the differentiation and contact among " World Heritage Archives " and the above-mentioned concepts and elaborated the main part:1 The concept of World Heritage Archives: they are historical records with keeping value which formed in the process of World Heritage's declaration , reexamination and management activities. Its form is diverse, including papers, tapes, compact discs, photographes etc.2 The constitutution of World Heritage Archives: it embraces the archives provided and formed in the process of World Heritage's declaration and reexamination activities.3 The attributes of World Heritage Archives: it covers usual attributes and specialattributes-such as intelligence, profession, unifiation of variation and correctnessand producing result directionally.4 The functions of World Heritage Archives: the store of data and information, extending the influence of the inheritage site and being advantageous to the protection of the inheritage site.The main part is the creation of the thesis. On the foundation of this theory, it analysised the collections, the management, the exploration and utilization of the World Heritage Archives. It also discussed problems and strategies.The thesis was written from the view of the dialectical materialism and historical materialism. Based on collecting, investigations and researches, the author thoroughly used the principles and methods of Archives, Information and Tourism Management, to explore the information resources of the World Heritage Archives and reveal their values. Meanwhile, the exploration and utilization on information resources of World Heritage Archives were discussed.
