Bai Archives Utilization Under The Perspective Of Cultural Heritage Protection

Bai is a minority nationality of long history and culture in China, residing in Bai Autonomous Prefecture of Dali in Yunnan province at present. As far back as4000years ago, the ancient people of Bai lived here, who created effulgent and splendid Bai culture. This long standing and well established culture accumulation is of national features and national style, fitting in with Bai society, with thousands of years'development of Bai's historical process. This thesis paper is based on the millennium ancient village—Fengyu Village as the field investigation point, the village studies as research method. It is aimed at establishing a case for Bai archives, which is the historical precipitation and important transmission link of Bai culture. It will be a visible and tangible model consisting in the vague and general academic research. Fengyu is a mountain dam in the northern Erhai Lake, and the largest village in the dam is called Fengyu Village. It is a large settlement with a population of more than7000, all residents of which are Bai. During the long history river, local Bai people have kept rich historical and cultural heritage, which is of high historical and cultural value, including ancient temples, ancient streets, traditional building houses, cremation tombs of Yuan dynasty, big screen-cremation, forest protection brand, local tablet, etc. With the constant change of Bai society, Bai culture is also developing and changing constantly, and Bai archives have been born continuously in the course of the formation, evolution and development of Bai. Therefore, the state of Bai archives also shows the characteristic of diversity. These archives are the product of Bai culture, being produced and shaped during the social practice activities such as politics, economy, culture, and so on, which are the record of authenticity and primitiveness. This record has recorded and reflected the formation, evolution, migration, development of Bai, possessing profound connotation. Based on the case extending method, through extending the study of Fengyu case, I attain in-depth comprehension on study of Bai archives. Through researching the utilization of Bai archives under the perspective of cultural heritage protection, we can see the formation and development process of Bai, and learn about the unique national characteristics of the language, words, religion, folk custom, history and other aspects, which is not only beneficial to protection and utilization of Bai archives resources, but also to the heritage and development of Bai culture.The dissertation falls into six sections:The Introduction Part:It mainly discusses about four aspects:the background and significance of the selected subject, the research status at home and abroad, the idea and methods, and the innovativeness of my study.Chapter I is stepping in the fields:the Bai archives investigation in Fengyu Village in Dali. Based on the research of the villages, It reveals the development and evolution regulations of Bai archives in this area, and promotes solutions to the relationship between the resource exploitation of national archives and the protection of traditional culture.Chapter II is case expanding:from the case of Fengyu to the utilization of Bai archives. The national archives are mainly classified as original chronicle records archives, traditional archives, and late-model archives to give a summary. And on this basis, it discusses the achievement of the Bai archives utilization and the challenges it is facing.Chapter III is about the research angle:the discussion of Bai archives utilization under the perspective of cultural heritage protection. It expounds the theme of "the utilization of Bai archives under the perspective of cultural heritage protection" from "the utilization of Bai archives under the perspective of cultural heritage protection theory""the utilization of Bai archives under the perspective of cultural heritage protection mechanism" and "the development model of the utilization of Bai archives under the perspective of cultural heritage protection"Chapter IV is about theoretical thinking:reflection on studies of the utilization of Bai archives. From the three aspects:the utilization of national minority village archives, the correct processing mode to the owner of the national archives, as well as the inheri tance and feedback of national archives to the national culture, it gives a further reflection about the utilization of national archives.The Ending Part:it mainly includes two aspects——the main conclusion of this paper, and a survey about the significance of conclusion extension.
