International competition becomes more and more drastic. An enterprise has to continuously improve and accumulate its intangible intelligence assets while making good use of its tangible assets (e.g. soil, workshop and machines) to improve its competitive advantages in the variable environment. How to systematically thoroughly and exactly grasp the real demand and useful information of the market and customers to the products and design and manufacture it quickly and efficiently becomes the key for success. To the enterprises, the useful information is knowledge. Knowledge is the product of the information with deeply process and information comes from data, but the data is usually hided in mountains of documents in the enterprises. Thus it's clearly that enterprises should participate in documents management to distill the useful information from the documents. Otherwise they will not grasp the opportunity followed by knowledge economy.Through building a customer document management platform, cooperation and sharing of customer's requirement and knowledge could be achieved. In addition, a special case flow management mode of customer document is created that can reach a good accumulation and maintenance with the teamwork style.Six chapters are included in this thesis. Chapter one is about the introductions that mainly include background, contents, state-of-the-art, objectives, and methods of customer document management as well as what it means to enterprise and its consequence. In chapter two and three, common discuss and analysis are given to the evolution and application of current document management and database systems. The availability analysis is given in comparison with kinds of methods. Chapter four is the key of this paper. It is suggested that establishing a new model of customer document management to reach the knowledge service requirement after analysis of management shortage in enterprise today. In chapter five, it presents how to establish customer document management platform, such as its designing aims, its system architecture, and its operation guide. In chapter six, .the conclusion is given.The example and the result of availability analysis clearly indicate that the system and the model created in this paper are well operational and the shortcoming of missing data can be overcome.
