A Study Of Blog Search Engine Based On Semantic Web

In 2005 and 2006, blog has developed promptly and become the forth network communication tool after e-mail, BBS and ICQ. As the number of blogs increases sharply, top blog search engines like Technorati have already appeared in the world. However, the domestic blog search engines only apply the traditional search engine to the blog searches, which results in low efficiency of query. Therefore, it is a challenging task to design a reasonable blog search engine system to collect, organize and retrieve blog sources, and to improve the utilization ratio of information resources.The thesis conducts firstly detailed study on search engine techniques and semantic web respectively. On the basis of the comparison between traditional search engines and the blog search engine, it integrates the system structure of traditional blog search engines and ontology in semantic web and proposes a new blog search engine model based on semantic web with expatiation on the model's system structure and functional module. This model standardizes the crawl and catch of blog resources according to the features of blogs, and applies ontology in semantic web research to blog search engine techniques, making use of the relation between ontology and different concepts to guide the information searching process, so as to help users to find the blog sources they wanted with speed and accuracy and to improve the precision and recall ratio of the blog search engine. The key of the model is the standardized crawl and catch of blog resources, semantic annotation and indexing of resources with the support of ontology, and semantic extension of user query.After that, it goes on to give an in-depth analysis and research on key techniques involved. It puts forward a standardized ontology construction, that is, the closed loop ontology construction, and an information search model based on ontology, focusing on reasoning theory with description of logistics and the semantic extension mechanism based on ontology in the process of searches. The study on the relevant key techniques lays the foundation for further researches and improvement of blog search engines based on semantic web.
