With the rapid development of Internet, the Internet has become the world's largest information database. So, the search engine has been a primary mean of finding information for more and more people, and how to quickly and accurately find information on a particular area from such huge amount of information has been a research focus. In such circumstances, the field search engines came into being. However, most of the field search engines only match the keywords mechanically, which results in a large number of results returned by search engine, and users also need to filter these results manually. To try to solve this problem, this paper introduces a field search engine using ontology, hoping to improve the field search engine's ability of understanding the semantic by the ontology's powerful express features in semantic. To achieve the above ideas, this paper made the following two specific tasks:1) Construction of ontology of garden trees. First introduced the ontology construction tools, and to illustrate the reasons for using Protege tool; then a detailed discussion of the ontology construction process, each step was a detailed analysis; finally constructed ontology, and lists some core of them.2) Design and Implementation of Meta Search Engine Systems for the garden tree area. After introducing the concept of ontology and search engine, this paper implements a meta search engine for the garden tree area, and descript system processes, the main modules of the system; also designed a comparative experiments for general search engine and traditional, and the experimental result is analyzed and summarized.
