With the development of network and the explosive growth of network product, people have more demands for the searching of network product. And the search engine is already the necessary information retrieval tool for the design and implementation of network. But traditional search technology based on keyword matching is hard to satisfy user's search demand.This paper designs a network search engine based on domain ontology for users who retrieve products from networks. Utilizing concept hierarchy of domain ontology, this paper presents a search engine based on resource acquisition of domain ontology. The function of this engine consists of three parts: one is constructing a domain ontology, including the ontology construction, maintain and update of specific products; two is the extraction and entry of metadata preparing for searching; three is semantic search and reasoning which implements query expansion based on domain ontology by indexing collected information.First, the paper introduces ontology, the research status of information search based on ontology and introduces ontology approach to construct product system. It proposes a construction plan of domain ontology to improve inflexibility, reusability and interdisciplinary of domain ontology. It implements the construction of product system and organization of product resource of search engine efficiently and provides a good resource and environment. Users can freely design required product information structure using domain ontology and select required product resource to relate domain ontology to implementing searching preparation.Then, the article analyzes and designs a network product search engine based on domain ontology. The engine adopts B/S architecture. The article constructs a domain ontology by analyzing the structure and characteristic of product information. And it gives a formal description of established domain ontology using OWL language and annotates ontology using domain RDF. It constructs meta-database of product for the content in searching, and then integrates specific products according to the mapping relationship between domain and metadata. On the basis of the construction of ontology semantic model, it ratiocinates by rule of implication.Finally, the article implements a network product search engine based on domain ontology. The engine tries to solve the problem of unidentifiable synonym, hard to find relevant information and so on. The experiments prove that the semantic information of product information is fully embodied and verify the feasibility of semantic search strategy.
