As a new generation of audio coding standard,AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) provides the fine audio compression performance.,far from exceeds the MP3 popular to us now, and more and more be attached importance to by people. AAC has been adopted as the audio compression stardard of MPEG-4.To adapt the different application occasions,,AAC comprises three application profiles with different complextity:main profile,LC profile and SSR profile .The LC profile is adaptable to all kinds of electronics-consuming applications, for it is moderate to the resource demand and complexity. So it maybe replace the MP3.The paper presents the theory of implementation and optimization of MPEG-4 AAC–LC decoder based on 32 bit DSP TMS320C6416.The experiment result indicates that the running rate of algorithm and the take up of the memory have a good improving, so we ensure the the quality of the audio decoding,leaving the adequate space for video and other applications.Firstly,The paper presents the decoding algorithm of MPEG-4 AAC,and then implement the decoding algorithm on the DSP TMS320C6416,at last optimize the complicated modules ,such as Huffman decoding module,IMDCT module and so on.After code testing,we conclude that the decoding software can hold the decoding of MPEG-4 AAC and acquire a good audio quality.
