A new method which is used to design the user-configuration software of the computerRelay-Protection device is presented by giving a brief introduction of the developmentof computer Relay-Protection device system in our country and concluding theproblems which exist in the Relay-Protection device software system from four aspects.This dissertation has introduced the hardware and software structure of this newprogrammable device, analysed the theory of the graphics protection software and howit works in details. The research and development of the software which applies in PChas been emphasized from three parts.First part is the design of graphic programming interface. This system allows customersto design the protection program by using Lad and STL. The principle of theprogramming is presented and realization of lad programming tools is stressed, whichincludes how to draw, edit, delete and move the components, how to roll the screen andsave the program file, how to optimize and debug the program.The second part is the design of the complier. The lad program edited by customers cannot be implemented without being complied to object program (LAD-STL-Assemble-Object). The detail properties (graphic and physics) of the components are saved bydatabase, then we can get the properties by searching the records when the program iscompiling. Bintree data-structure has been selected to be the bridge to link the Lad andSTL.The third part is the design of simulation program, which has introduced how thesimulation module works. The series and USB communication between PC and deviceare emphasized theoretically.The function of this software has been partly achieved by research and development.The problems occurred in design process and the methods to solve them have beenconcluded. This new software has to be studied further since it has broad applicationprospect.
