High-Speed Data Acquisition System Based On DSP And PC Bus

A general TMS320VC5402 DSP chip based high-speed data acquisition system is discussed in the paper, which can be applied in rotating machinery condition monitoring. With a PC ISA bus interface, the system greatly increases the real time performance of data acquisition and strengthens the performance of data analysis. At the same time,the system also has some advanced features such as low cost,high performance and easy extensibility.The system architecture and the realization of hardware and software are illustrated in detail in the paper.TMS320VC5402 DSP chip, high-speed and simultaneous sample A/D converter AD7865, CPLD chip and other chips are applied in the hardware system. Four pieces of AD7865,which features are high precision and multi-channel synchronous data acquisition, are controlled by high-speed operation DSP chip to realize multi-channel synchronous data acquisition.The key modules of the DSP control program are introduced in the paper, including initialization module, data acquisition module, storage module and transport module etc. The collected data are stored into the RAM of the data acquisition card first, and then sent to the condition monitoring system by the PC ISA bus interface for future analysis and process. The data acquisition system and the computer construct a master-slave structure and realize the concurrent execution among data acquisition, calculation and communication.The data acquisition system is also applied in a rotating machinery condition monitoring system in the paper. With the application to Measuring and contrasting of real signal, the result shows the system is effective and feasible.Finally, conclusions and evaluations about this system are given and the development of the system in the future is also suggested.
