The Top accident which is the main security accident in coal mine makes great damage and threat to national property and people' s lives. In our country death rate caused by the top accident in coal mine add up to 40%-50% of all the death accident in coal mine. 80% of the top death accident took place in stope especially during the period of the pressure change of working face, the probability of the top accident add up to 77.4% of all the top accident. Thus it can been seen that enhancing the top monitoring during the period of the pressure change of working face has important practical meaning to security in coal mine. The establishment of the top dynamic monitoring system can resolve the foregoing problems well. Each separate monitoring meter which is monitoring the top change of a testing spot and a communication station were connected by RS-485 BUS, each separate monitoring meter can communicate with the communication station, its testing parameter can be transmitted to the computers in the distance through the communication station, so we can monitor all the parameter of testing spots of coal mine on the ground. The traditional communication way by Modern only possesses relative slow transmission speed and narrow bandwidth so this way restricts the area of dynamic monitoring namely the number of testing spots is limited. Ethernet technique as a kind of LAN basic medium connection technique has high flexibility and simple realization, possesses high speed and wide bandwidth, becomes more and more widely applied in industrial field. The establishment of dynamic monitoring system based on Ethernet for the top in coal mine can realize real-time dynamic monitoring of all the separate testing spots in coal mine. The design of the system has three parts, namely the design of monitoring meter whose core component is single chip microprocessor, the design of communication station whose core component is also single chip microprocessor, the design of Ethernet which is based on protocol transmitting devices and Ethernet bridges or Ethernet switch.
