In recent years, the research of human resources management of academic library has become an important issue in practicing the theory of library management in our country. This thesis systematically analyzes the current situation about modern library human resources and those problems which the library is facing and the reasons which lead to the present status of human resources management of the academic library as well as the necessity of innovation on human resources management of the library. This paper uses the theory of administration management, organization behavior, modern human resources management theory and combines with management model and service mode in the new period of marketing economy and the era of knowledge economy as well as the changing content of the library. This paper also makes a preliminary exploration about the concrete measures on personnel resources development and management of the university library.This paper contains six sections: the first portion is the foreword which makes a summarization about on the basis of introducing the background and the significance of the establishment of the subject. Secondly the author analyzes the necessity of the innovation on human resource management of academic library. In both the third and fourth part the author makes a detail analysis on the present situation and the remaining problems of the human resources management of the academic library. In the fifth part a thorough inspection is made on the experience of American universities in terms of international human resources management of the library. In the last section the author gives us some concrete trains of thought about the innovation on human resources management of our college library on the basis of drawing lessons from the abroad. By quoting the achievements made by the researchers on the personnel structure, subject librarian, occupation career design and learning type library, the paper sets forth the innovative ideas about the selection, the utilization , the encouragement , the training as well as the evaluation of the library staff.
