With the competitive environment of market becoming fiercer and fiercer, enterprises are required to not only care about themselves, but also care about their upstream and downstream enterprises. And competition between enterprises has turn to competition between the supply chains the enterprise belongs to. Then, the integration of relationship between enterprises is needed to promote the development of supply chain. And in the procedure of management, inventory control is found to pay an important role in the decrease of cost of supply chain and the increase of service level. So, research about the method of inventory control is needed.Firstly, the forecast problem based on vendor managed inventory (VMI, for short) model is talked about. According to inventory demand changing with season and some random factors existing in actual problem, a new algorithm composed of a random time series forecast method and GM(1,1) is put forward, and a mathematic model is constructed to analyze history data. As a result, the precision of the requirement forecast is increased greatly.Secondly, a distributed inventory control model based on VMI is introduced. This model is composed of a supplier and several manufacturers, and the supplier owns a few VMI inventory. And a problem based on this model is put forward. Then, inventory replenishment strategy and transshipment strategy are talked about and a mathematic model is constructed. Then a Genetic algorithm (GA, for short) is put forward to solve the problem. The algorithm imports a self-adaptive arithmetic operator to get a more optimal solution. At last, a detail description of the design and implementation process of a distributed VMI management system is given.
