For the high-speed digital signal processing, the structure of FPGA and DSP is widespreadly adopted .DSP is more featured in the implementation of complicated algorithm ,while Field Programming Gate Array (FPGA) shows more advantage in its flexibility of design ,simplicity of system configuration , modification and maintenance .In the paper ,the hardware system of the spaceborne radar is based on the structure of FPGA and DSP, of which the signal processing part is accomplished with one FPGA chip and multi DSPs.The paper is on the research and implementation of radar digitalized receiver and controller. The radar digitalized receiver is based on Digital Down Conversion (DDC) technology, which is implemented on FPGA. The radar controller is based on the following technologies:FPGA, TigerSharc DSP and CAN bus .The implementation of DDC includes two parts, the demodulation and decimation of I and Q channels . Among the various ways to achieve the demodulation and decimation of I and Q channels, the polyphase filter is selected in the paper. High precision AD chip is used for intermediate frequency data sampling and FPGA of Virtex-â…¡series is used for the implementation of intermediate- frequency orthogonal system, which includes the sequencing control design for mult-channel radar system with verilog ,the application of IP core of digital filter and fifo , as well as the communication control module with DSP.As the master control part, the software programming for the communication between DSP and FPGA is designed .The experimental result with hardware circuit shows the design is valid and practical . The paper also tells the application of MATLAB in the design of FPGA and DSP .The radar controller is to implement command exchange and date communication between radar system and external ports and the satellite, through the radar control circuit . Featuring in high-speed, long transmitting distance and easily control and debugging, CAN bus is adopted as the communication way between radar controller and satellite .
