Hydrological monitoring refers to the integration of hydrological sensor technology and the memory, the transmission, the processing technology etc. The content of River -course hydrological monitoring includes some hydrological parameter of rivers and that of channel: the water -level, the flux, the flowing speed, rain (snow), evaporates, the silt, the ice, the soil moisture sentiment, the water quality and so on.With the rapid development of the modern electronic technology, sensor technology, communication and computer technology, the river -course hydrological monitoring technology has been promoted greatly. But, at present, two problems have not been solved yet as following:1. Water- level monitoring under serious circumstances in the river-course As the monitoring points are completely distributed in the open area, and the river always carries massive silts while it is flowing, so it is difficult in many aspects such as the selection of sensor, the field data gathering processing instrument , the power supply , real-time transmission of the data and the communication way . The northern severe winter also proposed to the system's stability. During the frozen season in north, it is unable to carry on the normal hydrological automatic detection and forecast it.
